The Farm & Family

Herland Farm sits at the entrance to Gwinear village, on the outskirts of Hayle. Stunning views of Angarrack and the viaduct leading out to St Ives Bay are an easy distraction when visiting the farm.

The Rowe family have been farming here for generations, growing cabbage and cauliflower alongside a traditional dairy farming operation. Nowadays Herland Farm is home to a small herd of Limousin cattle, whilst the farm produces a range of arable crops including maize, potatoes and brassicas.

More recently, Herland Farm has become the home of Herland Roots. Tucked away at the southern end of the farm, Herland Roots is the home of a vibrant market garden producing over 50 varieties of nutritious veggies to be sold direct to the customer, through our veg box scheme or at farmers’ markets.
